Oakdale Grant Secured

In partnership with Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-Allegheny), a grant of more than $400,000 was secured through the Gaming Economic Development and Tourism Fund (GEDTF) for a major stormwater improvement project in Oakdale Borough. The GEDTF program provides funding for single-year and multi-year projects that promote development in Allegheny County, including economic, infrastructure and community improvements; job training; public safety; and public interest. The money comes from the tax assessed on slot machines in casinos.

The $400,475 in grant funding will be used for stormwater improvements to upgrade two pollution reduction plan ponds along Cottonwood Drive and Highland Avenue. The work will include pond excavation, piping, storm manholes, inlets, fencing, gates, and replacement of end walls.
